One of Those Days

When you stop being an artist and start being a receptionist there are some things that you think you will never do.  You think you will never care about how much toner costs.  You’re not paying for it, who gives a hoot?!  You think you will never take it personally when the copy machine in the music office is broken and music faculty have to use your copier and they use up all the toner and paper.  You do not expect to be angered by this.  But then, one day, 14 months into your job, you realize that you do care.  You are taking this personally.

USE YOUR OWN GODDAMNED PAPER AND TONER.  I DON’T WANT TO USE OUR OFFICE’S BUDGET TO BUY MORE SO THAT YOU FOOLS CAN USE IT UP AGAIN!  DO YOU THINK PAPER AND TONER GROW ON TREES?

Paper does grow on trees, but DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE RESOURCES USED TO TURN THOSE TREES INTO PAPER.  And shipping.  That uses lots of gas, folks.  Plus cutting down nice trees.  You, music faculty, are responsible for the drowning polar bears.
