Mail Merge

MAIL MERGE MAKES ME WANT TO PUNCH SOMEONE.

Microsoft Office, I have a love/hate relationship with you.

I also have a love/hate relationship with vending machines.  You’d think in this day and age (day in age? I always just say “day’n’age”) we’d be able to create vending machines that weren’t retarded.  But no.

FRUSTRATION.

It’s “day and age”. For the record, other commonly-said-but-seldom-written phrases are “for all intents and purposes” and “your mother”.

Oh, and stop fretting about mail merge. Surely SOMEONE in your office can help you with it.

For the record, I knew “all intents and purposes” already, and it is a detail of great pride for me. I reserve the right to judge all people who write “for all intents in purposes” or “intends and purposes” or “intends in purposes”.

Also, thanks for your help on the mail merge.

I am deeply conflicted by my need to judge the poor grammar of others, as well as poor idiomatic usage. (I’ve also heard “for all intensive purposes”…)

I feel bad judging, but COME ON PEOPLE. Learn the idioms. It’s easy.

Also, you’re welcome for the help with the mail merge.
